Stunning ScreechStunning Screech (14): Once per hour the vrock can emit a screech that stuns every non-demon everyone in a cone-shaped area. Cones use special rules; see Area and Spreading Attacks (p. B413). The cone has a maximum width of 5 yards at the maximum range of 10 yards. This ability has no 1/2D range. Everyone within must resist with HT; Protected Hearing gives +5, Hard of Hearing gives +4, and those with Deafness are immune.14Once per hour the vrock can emit a screech that stuns every non-demon everyone in a cone-shaped area. SporesOnce every 15 seconds the vrock can emit a 2-yard radius cloud of spores around himself. This requires a Concentrate maneuver and costs 1 FP. The spores work as a contact agent, ignoring unsealed DR and dealing 1 point of toxic damage every 10 seconds for 6 cycles total. At the end of this time, the victim is covered with a tangle of viny growths. The vines are harmless and wither away in 1d4 days. The spores can be removed with a successful Physician roll (takes 10 seconds). Bless, neutralize poison, or remove disease kills the spores, as does sprinkling the victim with a vial of holy water.1 toxic2 yards
Dance of RuinTo use this ability, a group of at least three vrocks must join hands in a circle, dancing wildly and chanting. At the end of 16 seconds of dancing, a wave of crackling energy flashes outward in a 32-yard radius. All creatures except for demons within the radius take 6d crushing damage. This affects even insubstantial creatures. Stunning, paralyzing, or slaying one of the vrocks stops the dance. The dance costs each vrock 2 FP.6d crushing32 yards

  • GCS ancestry draft: gcs/vrock.gct
  • Source template total: 371 points.
  • Library-rebuilt template total: 371 points.
  • CER was computed from parsed Typical Stats using the Dungeons On Automatic baseline CER path.
  • Issue #5: 2 special ability construction(s) restored (Spores, Dance of Ruin) and 1 annotated with the source's stated cost. 1 save-or-disable construction(s) are scored through the affliction term at the source's stated point cost, or at Binding ST where the source builds the ability as a Binding.
  • GCS ancestry reconciliation adjudicated: the published template total is 371 points and the parsed source children sum to 381, a difference of -10. Classified as grouped construction not decomposed — consistent with grouped abilities the prose parser did not split into individual children (alternative abilities, linked constructions, and spell or breath-weapon groups). The points are real and priced in the author's total; only the decomposition is missing. The authorized source total is preserved; the remaining manual step is opening gcs/vrock.gct in GCS to replace the reconciliation child with native constructions where the grouped ability can be decomposed.
  • CER recomputed from the reviewed Typical Stats through the canonical Dungeons on Automatic CER path: OR 23, PR 16, CER 39, threat tier standard.
  • Conversion baseline reported OR 17, PR 16, CER 33 (tier standard). The reviewed values come from the consumer CER implementation, which rounds damage once after the damage-type multiplier and credits ranged accuracy; the conversion baseline ceilinged the damage base first and ignored range.
  • Encounter metadata derived (default): average number appearing 2, wandering weight 3. Appearing count capped at 2 because this creature carries a save-or-disable attack that the CER path does not price; the rating understates how dangerous a group of them is. Encounter metadata derived for 0.2.0 from the reviewed threat tier and creature class (appearing: minor 4 / standard 2 / major 1 / severe 1, forced to 1 for solitary classes — including swarms, which are a single multi-body creature — and raised to 6 for gregarious minor creatures; wandering weight: minor 4 / standard 3 / major 2 / severe 1). The fan-conversion source states no appearing-in-numbers or wandering values, so these are derived, not source mechanics.
  • Lair, treasure, and grappling remain unpopulated in 0.2.0 by package policy: the authorized fan-conversion source states no lair, treasure, or grappling values, and review declines to invent them. See review/policy/0.2.0-empty-field-policy.md.
  • Review approved by automated-mechanical-review on 2026-07-26 (batch ee-2026-07-26-b2-gcs-reconciliation); GCS fidelity check passed, DOA playability check passed.
  • The source-total difference is classified and documented in conversionNotes; the authorized published total is preserved and the residual stays visible as a reconciliation child.
  • Visual GCS verification of the .gct is not claimed by this decision; checks.gcsVisualPass is false.
